The Story Behind UNRVL
UNRVL was founded by Malyvahn, a visionary with a story of resilience and transformation. Born in a refugee camp in Thailand, Malyvahn immigrated to the United States at the age of six, navigating a new life with her non-English-speaking parents. As the eldest child, she grew up quickly, taking on responsibilities beyond her years while facing relentless bullying and struggles with self-worth.
At 21, Malyvahn’s life took a dramatic turn when she was diagnosed with cancer. Faced with this life-altering challenge, she chose a holistic path to healing, discovering Kundalini yoga, breath-work, and meditation. These practices became tools of empowerment, helping her confront childhood pain and embrace self-love.
A pivotal part of her journey was embracing affirmations like “I am loved” and “I am beautiful.” Though these words felt foreign at first, they gradually reprogrammed her subconscious and ignited a belief in herself. Malyvahn’s transformation inspired her to share the simple yet powerful concept that healing begins with two words: I AM.
